In the 70's there was long debate on weather the voting age should be 21 or 18. The debate began during WW2. Congress passed the 26th amendment in may. But president Nixon signed it off in July. During WW2 president Roosevelt changed the drafting age to 18 when the voting age was 21. The slogan "Old enough to fight, Old enough to vote." became a popular slogan in 1970.
The amount of women employed was more than women not employed or women not in labor force. Women that worked in 1970 were hard workers and would do a lot for there family. A lot of women with a family didn't usually work. Many families had their parents working. the numbers of women working have increased over the years past the 70's.
