Cultural
There were many cultural aspects in the 1990’s that affected the way we see certain things today. For example, many T.V. shows, such as “Saved By The Bell”, “Friends”, and “Full House” were very popular at the time (and some of them still are today). Also, many movies were widely popular as well. For example, the classics “Forest Gump”, “The Titanic”, and “The Lion King” were all released in this time period. In fact, The Lion King was so popular that this movie was translated in nearly all of the languages! All of these movies and T.V. shows are still enjoyed today and are loved by many people.
FRIENDS Theme Song (Argued the most well-known show in the 1990's)
The trends in the 1900’s were also very interesting. People in this era loved bright-colored clothing and headbands. Women carried the trend of big hair and belts. Many people were also sporting the fanny pack, scrunchie, choker necklace, or a pair of light up shoes. But mainly there trend consisted of very loose or baggy clothing. For example, there were these pants called jnco jeans (picture on the right) which basically were these very baggy pants that many teenagers wore back then.
Interview about the culture
I decided to interview my sister, Anna, who is currently 24. She was born on November 31 1990 and basically lived the whole 1990’s era. Here are some questions I asked her about the culture in this time period.

*NSYNC, Backstreet Boys, Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez, Eminem, Eiffel 65, Nirvana, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Spice Girls, Sugar Ray, Celine Dion, Smash Mouth, Alanis Morissette, Sheryl Crow
What were the fashion trends in the 90’s?
Early 90’s - Grunge - No shower, baggy clothes, brown lips, knee high boots
Tween Girl Style - butterfly clips, temporary tattoos, Limited Too, Old Navy, Doc Martens
Tween Guy Style - Air Jordans, bowl hair cut, Oakley sunglasses, Puma necklaces
What type of songs did people normally listen to in this time period?
Ren & Stimpy, All That, Friends, Clarissa explains it all, Full House, Boy meets world, Seinfeld, The Simpsons, Home Improvement, Keenan & Kel, Rocko’s Modern Life, Hey Arnold!, Looney Tunes
What sports, games or activities were popular back then?
-NBA, The Chicago Bulls
-1994 US hosted the World Cup
-Hackey sack
-Skip it
-Bop it
-Yo-yo
Overall, 90’s fashion was all about baggy clothes and grunge, which basically means greasy hair, and kind of a dirty look (according to my sister). She was very into Sheryl Crow and the Backstreet Boys and enjoyed playing with the Skip it and Bop it. It is also clearly obvious that kids in the 90's spent more time outside than we do due to this era not having that many technology activities like we do today.

Backstreet Boys - I Want It That Way (probably the cheesiest song I have listened to)
